 Principal's Update

December 10 - The Annual Holiday Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, December 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.  Shoppers will find unique and beautiful gifts for everyone on their lists.  Jewelry, wood crafts, holiday decor, hand crafted chocolates, and knit items are just a sampling of the treasures to be found at the fair.  The high school PTF will be selling Swampscott spirit apparel including hats, scarves, quarter zip pullovers, tie dye hoodies, pj bottoms and three styles of sweatpants. The event will feature refreshments, music will be performed in the atrium by student musicians, and a children's craft table. The first 100 shoppers will receive a free gift from the PTF.  Please come to this festive holiday event and support the artisans in our community.

December 13 - Early dismissal this Tuesday at 12:30 - no lunches schedule cafe is open at 12:30 for student who wish to purchase lunch


December 14 - 7:30 AM - Swampscott High School Anti-Bullying program will begin for the 2016-17 school year - any and all are invited to attend and participate - more information to follow.

January 1st, 2017 -
11th Annual Polar Bear Plunge 11am at Fisherman’s Beach

The 2017 plunge benefits the Swampscott School District’s newly created SWIFT and HARBOR Programs
and The Russell J. Hopkins Children’s Fund. Rumor is there will be a special appearance by Mr. Murphy.

Sports Updates
A busy weekend ahead, Boys Basketball takes on Amesbury, wrestling opens up at Everett in a quad meet, and Girls Basketball plays against Somerville tomorrow.

Boys Track Vs. Saugus (12/8/16)

Score: W: 69-8 (1-0) 
The Swampscott Boys Indoor Track and Field squad opened the season with a 69-8 victory over NEC opponent Saugus. Junior Isaiah Bascon won two events, placing first in both the 55-meter (6.7) and high jump (6’0”) to lead the Big Blue.Dave Quill lead the way to a sweep in the shot put with a throw of 39’11.5” as did  Joe Varghese in the 55m HH (9.4).Devin Denham (600m) and Jack Dennehy (1,000m) also notched 1st place finishes in convincing fashions.


On Monday 12/12, the Big Blue will host Gloucester.
