Wednesday, November 30th 2016, at 6:30 p.m. the Swampscott Schools Mental Health Task Force will host a forum to discuss the outcomes of the Youth Risk Behavior Survey that was given to students in grades 6-11 in Swampscott last Spring.  This tool looks at trends of high risk behaviors in our youth.  The forum was held earlier this month as well and based on positive feedback and parent request, we are offering it once again. The presentation will review the outcomes of the survey given last Spring and discuss current concerns.  What are our students telling us?  What can the community do together to help prevent some of these issues?  The evening will be an opportunity for parents and community members to learn more about the challenges our youth are facing and how we can work together to help.  Please join us at Swampscott High School on Wednesday, November 30 at 6:30 p.m.  Parents of all Swampscott students are welcome.

The Swampscott Toys for Local Children (TLC) Program is once again preparing for the holiday season. This wonderful program helps to enhance a child’s Chanukah or Christmas by providing a few presents for each child in the family. Many families find this time of year particularly difficult due to added financial burdens which come at the holidays. If you feel that your child might benefit from the TLC Program, please contact one of the people below to ask any questions and submit a request. Confidentiality will be assured. Swampscott High School Assistant Principal Lytania Mackey Knowles or Marybeth O'Malley, the high school nurse, are available to help process your request. You can reach them via email (click on their name) or by calling 781-596-8830.
